The Accountant will support the financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, processing of financial transactions, and compliance with applicable regulations.
This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of financial data, assisting in budgeting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Qualifications
Key responsibilities will include:
Financial Reporting & Analysis– Prepare and maintain financial reports and records; support CFO with analysis.
Accounts Management– Manage and process student fee payments, refunds, and adjustments per institutional policies; assist with government reporting (FEE-HELP, HECS, VET Student Loans, international student reporting); collaborate with admissions, enrolment, and student services to resolve financial queries.
Budgeting & Forecasting– Assist in budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial modelling.
Compliance & Auditing– Prepare for audits, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain internal controls.
General Ledger Maintenance– Reconcile ledgers, close accounts, and process journal entries.
Communication & Collaboration– Coordinate with departments, provide financial info, and assist CFO on projects.
Continuous Improvement– Recommend process improvements, stay updated on regulations, and pursue training.

Prior experience within Higher Education or Vocational Education is desirable
