Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Services Professional to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide accounting and financial expertise, assist in the preparation and presentation of financial reports, and maintain the General Ledger structure within our system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the completion of general financial reports including annual and quarterly financial statements, taxation returns (GST, FBT), and other key documents;
  • Prepare journal entries for allocation of capital salaries to relevant projects on a quarterly basis;
  • Assist in maintaining the Grant Register, producing financial reports for grant acquittal as required;
  • Interpret and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and legislation applicable to the finance function;
  • Coordinate and complete all necessary monthly general ledger/balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely adjustments;
  • Maintain the ongoing integrity of the general ledger and Rating system as the basis of all financial information;
  • Process invoices and manage the online requisitioning process (Purchasing)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting with practical financial accounting experience in a medium to large organisation or lesser formal qualifications with substantial financial accounting experience;
  • Professional membership of Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants
  • Wide ranging knowledge of and experience in interpreting and applying relevant Australian Accounting Standards and Regulations;
  • Extensive understanding of financial accounting practices and principles;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills to liaise effectively with management, staff, external providers and clients;
  • Ability to manage complex financial problems and prioritise tasks to meet specific objectives in an efficient manner
