**Position Title**:Internal Communications and Events Officer**

**About the Role**:
Seeking a motivated Internal Communications and Events Specialist to join a high-profile government agency in Brisbane CBD. Help build, strengthen, and maintain the agency's relationships with staff, business, industry and the community through regular proactive communication. Work in a dedicated team, assist in reshaping the employee experience and fostering a workplace culture that thrives on engagement and connection.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plan and manage internal communications activities and plans, consistent with the respective departmental strategic plans and priorities
- Coordinate events (in-person and virtual) including speech writing, planning, implementation and technical elements
- Research, write, develop and edit a range of materials, including speeches, newsletters, publications, infographics, video and web content in line with the department's style guide
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people

**About You**:
To succeed in this role, you will:

- Experience and expertise leading a range of integrated communication services for internal clients including developing and implementing communication plans and activities, managing brand and reputation and coordinating in-person and/or virtual events (or a willingness to learn)
- Someone who has prepared and designed a wide range of communication materials and tools in accordance with the department's guidelines and approvals to meet objectives, including:

- Leadership messages
- Newsletters
- Web content
- Fact sheets
- Display materials
- Speeches
- Videos
- Briefings and reports
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate effective relationships with key stakeholders, colleagues and other agencies to achieve communications and stakeholder outcomes
- An understanding of contemporary internal communications trends and continual drive to innovate and improve
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work at pace to meet deadlines
- A willingness to engage in a team environment and be an active part of a positive culture
