The role
Reporting to the Director, Media and Digital you will lead, mentor, and grow a team of media and communications professionals to develop and deliver innovative reactive and proactive media solutions that enhance health outcomes for Queensland health system consumers. You will provide specialist advice to senior management on proactively managing significant media issues, crisis management, and building and protecting the brand and reputation of Queensland Health.

Furthermore, you will actively develop and manage frameworks, systems, and processes to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the media and issues function.

The successful person
To be successful in this role you will have a comprehensive understanding and breadth of experience in leadership and people management skills within a communication or media and issues environment, including the ability to effectively coach and mentor staff. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in media and issues management, in a high-pressure environment.

In addition to this, you will have the proven ability to communicate with influence, interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
