This permanent position calls for a dynamic individual to manage our skilled media team, turning opportunities into compelling narratives, handling media inquiries with a strategic eye, and overseeing the preparation of a variety of media content that aligns with the department's vision and objectives. The essence of this role lies in leadership - it's an opportunity for the visionary in you, the calm force in the storm,the voice that leads with conviction, and the strategist with the expertise to navigate the ever-evolving media landscape. You will be an advocate for media excellence, nurturing important stakeholder relationships, and coaching and motivating a team to learn, grow, try new things, and make impact.
Your responsibilities will be as vast as they are vital, including: - Leading a media team focused on delivering innovative and impactful communications, prioritising swift, high-quality delivery and fostering a culture of positivity and results-driven collaboration. Acting as a pivotal contact point managing the flow of media services between the Minister's Office, the Department, and third-party stakeholders. Providing and overseeing the provision of strategic media advice to ministerial advisers and senior executives to navigate and triumph in the media landscape. Fostering strategic relationships and networks, both within the government and with external partners, to deliver on media objectives. Overseeing the crafting and implantation of all media materials and activities, from identifying storytelling opportunities to producing speeches and managing media issues.
