You'll work closely with procurement and contract management teams to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strategic sourcing outcomes.This role is pivotal in leading transformation initiatives that uplift procurement capability, streamline systems, and embed best practices across the organisation.
Operating in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment, you'll bring clarity, structure, and innovation to NHVR's procurement landscape.Key responsibilities of this role are:Lead the development and implementation of procurement frameworks, tools, and trainingDeliver assurance checks and audits to maintain governance and identify risksAct as a key escalation point for procurement-related governance and risk issuesProvide expert advice on legislative and policy compliance (e.g., Modern Slavery Act, ESG)Drive transformation and innovation initiatives to improve procurement systems and processesSupport high-risk procurement activities and negotiationsCollaborate across teams to align procurement initiatives and uplift capabilityReport on performance metrics and progress to senior leadershipNHVR's Procurement and Contracts Team are currently undertaking growth and considerable transformation, and this is an exciting time to join the organisation.To learn more, the position description can be found on the NHVR Careers site - YouTo be successful in this role you will possessMinimum10 years' experiencein a procurement leadership roleStrong background in governance, systems implementation, and process improvementDemonstrated ability to lead in complex and evolving environmentsDeep understanding of government procurement policies and compliance frameworksExceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skillsQualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Law or MCIPS accreditation (highly regarded)The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass.
