**About the role**
Reporting to the HSE Manager Midstream, the Regulatory Approvals Lead is a critical position and will take a lead role in the delivery of the day-to-day Regulatory Approvals management services across the Bayu Undan CCS project including the development of a regulatory framework for CCS internally and externally in collaboration with Government Affairs team, Australian regulators, and Timor Leste regulators.
This is a permanent position based in Santos' Adelaide office.
**Job Role**
- Develop and deliver liver regulatory framework encompassing health, safety and environment approvals plus compliance requirements for CCS
- Promote high performance culture through building relationships and influencing key internal stakeholders
- Coordinate the implementation of primary approvals (i.e., Referrals) and environment management plans/approvals documents. Track and advise progress against actions under these plans/programs and report internally and externally as appropriate.
- Develop work scopes for supporting studies such as air quality modelling, emissions modelling, GHG management plan and other relevant studies
- Identify any other regulatory or legal requirements and obtain regulatory approvals for CCS
- Lead effective and timely engagement and collaboration with regulators and other stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver presentations / education / awareness sessions as relevant to CCS regulations
- Manage the budget and accruals for services for the development and approval of regulatory requirements for CCS
- Support commercial / government engagement efforts to establish CCS regulations and approvals framework in Timor-Leste
- Degree Qualified or Equivalent Tertiary and/or relevant work/industry experience in technical area
- Environmental qualifications is desirable but not mandatory.
- Significant experience in provision of environmental/regulatory services to the Oil and Gas sector, Government sector or in the regulatory space
- Demonstrated knowledge of HSE legislation, policies and processes related to oil and gas operations, experience in Northern Territory, Commonwealth and Timor Leste environment legislation is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience with CCS or related technical expertise (desirable but not mandatory)
- Strong communication, negotiation and technical writing ability
- Significant experience in HSE/regulatory project management
- Demonstrable experience in the successful engagement and management of contractors/consultants
