Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the role of Assistant Director Regulatory Intelligence. As part of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team that develops, coordinates, and provides high-quality intelligence and analysis to inform strategic, operational, and tactical planning and operations.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult and/or sensitive issues, excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex analytical findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to effectively manage the team consistent with statutory responsibilities and the strategic direction and operational policies of the organisation.
  • Lead and coordinate the successful development of regulatory intelligence capabilities and products to support regulatory activity.
  • Provide high-level intelligence analysis on both complex and sensitive issues and identify opportunities, solutions, and strategies to address contentious, long-term, and emergent issues and provide expertise and counsel across the organisation.
  • Establish and implement effective communication systems, both internal and external to Commission to ensure stakeholders are consulted and to disseminate information as required.
  • Deliver briefings and other documentation to clearly communicate findings of analysis to influence executive and committee decision making, particularly with regard to the strategic, operational, and tactical direction of the Commission.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult and/or sensitive issues.
  • Excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex analytical findings.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities while working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including quality assurance ability.
  • Flexibility to work both independently and work with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy and reporting skills, including structured analytical techniques.
  • Understanding the role of data, intelligence, and information by modern regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and lead a team including data and intelligence specialist staff.
Benefits:
  • This is a non-ongoing opportunity offered for an irregular/intermittent term, which may vary from 1-12 months, with options to extend up to 24 months.
