Join our Visy Paper Mill 8 team in Gibson Island, Queensland, one of five Visy Recycle Pulp & Paper mills located across Australia.
This is a
12 Months Fixed Term (Potential ongoing)
Rotating Roster, Day and Night shifts (6-6)
As a Paper Machine Operator, you will play a vital role, operating a Paper Machine and its ancillary equipment to meet agreed production, service and quality standards.
Reporting to the Production manager your key responsibilities will include:
Being fully conversant on all aspects of machine operation including winding and finishing, quality processes and systems.
Ensuring equipment is correctly maintained and maintenance is performed regularly.
Maintain safe work and operating practices, and a high level of housekeeping at all times.
Regularly review work processes and assist in identifying improvements.
What you will bring to the team:
As our new Paper Machine Operator, you will have prior experience, operating machinery within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
You have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to work well as a team and independently.
You have good written and communication skills and processes a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
Along with the following:
A mechanical aptitude is essential, and a trade/ technical qualification is highly regarded.
Qualifications – HNC Paper Technology would be a distinct advantage.
Ability to work a 12-hour rotating roster
Experience operating a forklift and hold a current forklift licence, is desirable.
A problem solver with good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
