**The Role**
Within the Directorate of Logistics Systems Sustainment an APS 6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex logistics policy work within an integrated workforce.

They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

The APS 6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer you will be required to:

- Work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.
- Provide detailed logistics technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
- Be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows.
- Be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.
- Exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes.
- Have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues.
- Identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
- Be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

**About our Team**
The APS 6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer will lead a small team undertaking work on the Electronic Supply Chain Manual, specifically those areas relating to Procurement, Finance and Requirements Determination.

Strong team collaboration and communication skills are desirable for this role as there will be regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders when resolving MILIS user issues, followed by generating, implementing and sustaining appropriate and robust procedural guidance as well as providing input to future state processes for the implementation of ERP.
- Experience in procurement and requirements determination, ideally within a Defence or Government environment.
- Possess excellent verbal and written skills and will be an effective team leader.
- Exercise sound decision making and judgement, engage in complex problem solving and issues management and be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships.
- You will be keen to take on a challenging but rewarding position that will provide the opportunity to put your skills to use in delivering solutions and outcomes for Defence as we move towards the implementation of ERP.
