**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Are you an experienced Legal Assistant wishing to step in your Career? If so we have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Management Assistant (PMA) to join our high performing Sydney team within our Disputes Practice Group on a permanent full-time basis.
This role will manage a high volume practice which will require strong matter management skills, with a predominant focus on financial management and billing, whilst also being able to take on new technology to improve our processes to meet the team's needs.
Our PMAs attend to a wide range of activities that respond to the evolving landscape of our business and the drivers of the Practice Group they support including:
- financial management activities - whether that be providing assistance with complex billing; taking on billing and reporting responsibilities at a client/matter level; or putting systems in place for consistent time/billing arrangements;
- continuous process improvement - reviewing current processes and identifying gaps and/or opportunities for change;
- mentoring / knowledge sharing - mentoring to junior or new starters and sharing knowledge acquired with others.
**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated strong experience in a support role working in a professional services firm with demonstrated experience in billing and financial management (legal firm experience is desired).
- Microsoft Office knowledge and skills (advanced - Excel; intermediate - Outlook, Power BI, SharePoint, Word).
- Proven ability to learn, develop and implement new ways of working and to adopt new systems. In particular, being able to adopt current technology to improve processes and procedures.
- Excellent digital and verbal storytelling to communicate insights and influence key stakeholders within the business.
- Well developed technical experience building and maintaining tools and reports.
- Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Displays good judgement and problem-solving ability.
