About the role:
The purpose of the Compliance Analyst role within Momentum Energy's compliance team is to support Momentum Energy's leadership team, managers, and employees to understand and meet their regulatory compliance obligations. This is achieved through the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Momentum Energy's compliance framework.

What you'll do:

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Work collaboratively within the Compliance and Retail Governance teams, and across the broader Momentum Energy business.
- Provide pragmatic, fit for purpose, and risk-based regulatory compliance advice to internal stakeholders.
- Perform internal assurance activities, report findings, seek management responses, and monitor management actions.
- Facilitate the compliance incident management process and support incident owners with the investigation and remediation of compliance incidents.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver internal compliance training.
- Review and signoff internal and external material (work instructions, customer communications, website content etc.) to ensure that compliance with regulatory obligations is met.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate external compliance reporting to regulators and government departments.
- Perform other duties as required by the Compliance Manager and General Counsel/GM of Retail Governance.

What you'll bring:

- Significant experience in the energy industry or another highly regulated industry.
- Previous experience in similar compliance, assurance, audit, risk, legal and/or other related roles.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (including presentational skills).
- Influencing and collaboration skills with demonstrated capacity to manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to understand and interpret energy and non-energy compliance instruments being Acts, regulations, codes, rules, schemes, guidelines etc.
- Ability to translate complex compliance requirements into succinct and easy to understand advice for internal stakeholders and project team members.
- Strong understanding of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 37301 - Compliance Management Systems.
- Attention to detail and strong investigative, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to plan and schedule priorities, manage strict deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
