General Manager Risk Analytics

The General Manager of Risk Analytics & Solutions is a critical position, responsible for leading and overseeing the Risk Analytics team of data reporting and insights analysts to deliver service-led reporting, analytics, and insights products to facilitate data-driven business decision making within the division and across the enterprise.

The Risk Analytics team reports to The Star Entertainment Group (TSEG) Chief Risk Officer to provide risk analytics and data governance oversight independence as a Line 2 team in the 3LOA.

**Key responsibilities**

**General**

Develop internal reporting capabilities to interrogate data in support of assurance activities, risk assessments and investigations.

**Risk solution identification and requirements**
- Design the future state risk and compliance data and technology strategy for TSEG including data sources, system measurement and monitoring capabilities and reporting requirements.
- Source and manage vendor solutions to support enhanced capability to manage all risk classes across TSEG.
- Work with Technology to implement and support solutions, acting as business owner to ensure solutions meet the risk and compliance requirements.
- Work in concert with risk class owners to determine, implement and manage system settings to drive alerts that would be managed by Line 1. These alerts would include screening alerts, transaction monitoring alerts, responsible gaming alerts and regulatory breaches that require resolution.

**Data quality governance**
- Maintain a framework and governance for ensuring rules and risk metrics are appropriately understood and fit for purpose. This would include ensuring awareness and accountability of Line 1 businesses.
- Monitor the implementation of systems, policies and procedures to support secure, consistent and transparent decision-making regarding operational matters associated with data, analytics and governance.

**Risk reporting**
- Drive continuous improvement in risk reporting to ensure that data is used to identify trends and develop appropriate responses to emerging themes.
- Lead the development of risk dashboards and solutions to assist with effective monitoring of risk profile against risk appetite across the material risk categories / risk taxonomy.

**Risk leadership**
- Attend management governance meetings as required.
- Provide advice and updates to the Chief Risk Officer and the Board (and Board Committees).

**To be successful in this role you will have**
- Previous leadership experience leading data analytics teams in regulatory environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in developing data strategies, risk mitigation, project management and using human-centered design principles to problem-solve.
- Leverages their data & analytics technical expertise to lead, influence and advise delivery and execution
- Broad understanding of relevant statutory compliance and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people and resources and contribute effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Tertiary studies in a relevant area
