Senior Production Engineer

Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, South Africa, Ghana, Peru, Canada, and Chile.Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew, and Granny Smith mines, and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.Reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager at Agnew, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations.
In compliance with site Environmental and Safety Standards, you will be responsible for all mining aspects, including the development and implementation of plans in line with short to medium-term planning targets.As an employee at Gold Fields, we expect all levels of employees to act in a manner that seeks to align and enhance the values, safety culture, and performance of Gold Fields with the purpose of creating enduring value beyond mining.This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and is fly-in fly-out from Perth as this is a remote position.Benefits include:Annual Bonus Scheme & long-term share incentive planVirgin Velocity reward pointsContinual training and ability to expand your careerSalary Sacrifice optionsAbout the role:The development and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with operational targets.Managing the design of stopes and subsequent drill and blast plans to maintain minimal dilution and maximum recovery.Ensure business success by developing, implementing, and recording mine information to ensure safe and economic target delivery.Knowledge of end-of-month preparations and compliance reports.Reconciliation of mined plan versus actual plan to identify improvement areas.Direct and lead all members of the production team and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication.
This will include coordinating the training and mentoring of the Production and Graduate Engineers.Actively identifying risks and threats to safely achieving targets and develop, establish, and manage programs to ensure risk elimination/minimization.Communicating issues that may affect safe and efficient production to the Underground Manager.Contributing to business and cultural improvement initiatives and encouraging team participation.Promoting and enforcing standard design practices & processes.Monitoring and reporting on progress of Actual vs. Schedule and Budget (physicals, costs).
Act as the Deputy Underground Manager when required.About you:WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency is desirable.Supervisory or Management Training desirable.Experience mentoring and developing a team of Mining Engineers.Solid underground engineering experience, preferably in gold mining.Possess a valid Driver's Licence.Exposure to Microsoft Office and mining software, Deswik would be highly regarded.Applications can be submitted via this link.Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
