**Purpose**

Design a product range for the Girlswear apparel and accessories range that fulfils the range option plan and that reflects our season trend statements and customer profile. Manage the Design Assistant to achieve cutting edge designs that achieve high volume sales and promote Country Road as a market leader.

***Please note that this is a maternity cover contract until July 2026**

**Key Accountabilities**
- Design on brand product range ensuring it meets CR image, option plan, price points and margin in conjunction with Design Manager
- Manage the strategic design brief selecting seasonal colour palettes and discussing trends in silhouette, fabric and colour
- Maintain focus on target customer and attract new customers through range with the Design Manager
- Work collaboratively to implement approved business initiatives through existing operational structures and ensures ownership
- Utilise forecasting information provided to contribute to the design brief and build range
- Complete necessary research, evolve & collate relevant imagery for boards prior to Design meetings
- Prepare and present design briefs and ranges to the MD with the Design Manager
- Assist in preparing and participate at store conference in conjunction with Design and Merch managers, presenting ranges and talking through key looks
- Interact with stores in conjunction with the Design Manager, presenting the range and talking through key looks
- Liaise and build relationships with overseas agents and key stakeholders to communicate styling and design concepts.

- Experience building ranges taking into account core, seasonal and aspirational elements
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work within team
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to develop team member capability and succession.
