Treasury is seeking an experienced human resources Assistant Director - to join their Inclusion and Diversity area within the People and Organisational Strategy Branch. The role is responsible for contributing to organisational strategy by driving and delivering inclusion and diversity outcomes for the Department.

The ideal applicant will have demonstrated experience managing and implementing human resources programs and initiatives and working with various stakeholders, including diversity networks. They will have program management skills enabling them to successfully implement enterprise level human resource strategies designed to drive organisational change and increasing inclusion and diversity across the Department. They will be experienced in relationship management and have excellent communication skills.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to guide, monitor and implement Treasury's inclusion and diversity policies and initiatives. As an Assistant Director, you will manage the implementation of Treasury's Inclusion and Diversity Strategy, contributing to the development, delivery and implementation activities designed to make Treasury an employer of choice for a culturally and socially diverse community. Working under the general direction of the Director, you will work both independently and as part of a small team. You will also supervise the APS6 Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator.

The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- leading an enterprise approach to increasing inclusion and diversity and embedding equity into HR functions,
- formulating strategic and practical plans to address inclusion and diversity matters,
- managing Treasury's inclusion and diversity initiatives including those with external agencies,
- providing support to Treasury's Diversity Committees and Networks,
- engaging with different stakeholders, including internal personnel and networks, Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) groups, Australian Public Service (APS) agencies and external stakeholders and providers, and
- coaching, developing and managing a small team.

**Desirable Qualifications / Experience**
- demonstrated capability to implement human resource initiatives,
- knowledge and understanding of diversity and inclusion matters,
- experience in project management,
- highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, and
- the ability to produce high quality written correspondence.
- Understand the current context and issues relevant to the APS workforce or possess the ability to quickly gain this understanding.
- Possess the ability to communicate professionally with others and respond to their needs and expectations.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and experience.
