Due to climate change and the associated environmental impacts within Australia, this is a unique opportunity to be involved in determining the strategy for one of Australia's leading insurers during a time of significant change.

This is a high-profile role, working closely with the Executive General Manager, Strategy and Transformation to develop and implement actionable customer strategies, both now and in the future. You will be responsible for defining, developing and leading Suncorp's Group and Insurance Strategy to delivery our vision, maximising customer, employee and shareholder outcomes to benefit in this changing landscape.

**What you'll do**:

- Define, prioritise and deploy the Insurance and Group strategies, demonstrating a clear link between improved customer and shareholder outcomes whilst ensuring alignment with our culture, cost and capital strategies.
- Engage widely across the Group to articulate the strategies simply to staff and stakeholders of all levels, including regulators and the community.
- Provide input to, and shape, the group's Business Plan through the voice of the customer, outlining key, quantified growth opportunities that are linked to the P&L.
- Contribute to the development of the target state and transition architectures for the Suncorp business, developing navigation paths and solution sets.
- Leverage insights and learnings from other markets and categories to innovate and disrupt financial services norms.
- Work with Customer Insights team, to Identify key target customer segments, customer cohorts, value pools, emerging needs and opportunities that will materially contribute to Suncorp's growth aspirations.
- Contribute to the design of customer solutions in line with the Group digital strategy (now, next, later).
- Contribute to defining the priority customer pathways (inter/intra brand) and priority customer journeys.
- Understand our existing customers and anticipate future customer needs through global trends, diagnostics and the identification of customer pain points for selected segments and customer journeys. Support the design the intended experience to remove pain points and meet more customer needs.
- Shares key learnings on Strategic Opportunities and Risks across Suncorp to generate a systemic/shared understanding of the business rationale and identified risks

**What you'll bring**:

- 10+ years' leadership experience, with an inspiring leadership style
- 5-10 years' experience in strategy, innovation or commercial environments, ideally from a consultancy
- Comprehensive understanding of the financial services environment within Australia, insurance highly desirable
- MBA from leading business school desirable, or equivalent applied knowledge and capability
- Tertiary qualification in Business - preferably in Business, eCommerce, Information Systems, related disciplines (mandatory)
- Exemplary customer focus, strategic mindset and 'outside in' thinking.
- Ability to effectively collaborate across the Suncorp Group to deliver 'Win / Win' scenarios for all parts of the organisation
- Ability to align resources across the Group to achieve Suncorp's Business Plan & deliver on the agreed 3rd party revenue targets.
- Strong Program Governance
- Ability to work with Risk team to challenge the current Risk Appetite Statement
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
- Mastery of leadership and change management skills, consultation, influencing and negotiation capability.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment in which the business operates, including regulatory requirements
