Job Description
Job Title General Practitioner - Immigration Medical Examinations
Reports To Practice Manager
Direct Reports N/A
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Conduct Immigration Medical Assessments in conformance with the
- Panel Member Instructions.
- Provide clients with a Pathology and Radiology referral as required.
- Undertake training on Bupa processes, the Panel Member Instruction and the eMedical system
- Participate in training and professional development as required by the business.
- Check Pathology results and accurately document the results in the correct file in eMedical prior to finalizing the client's Medical Assessment.
- View and check chest X-rays for accuracy.
- Notify relevant government bodies of all reportable conditions as required by law and by the Department of Home Affairs.
- Complete the declaration in eMedical according to the Panel Member Instructions.
- Complete the eMedical declaration at the same Centre in which the
- Medical Assessment was undertaken.
- Provide clients with a duty of care letter to seek further medical advice if evidence of conditions that are not part of a Medical Assessment are detected.
- Provide post-test counselling and referral to appropriate health services (e.g., sexual health clinic) where a blood borne virus condition is newly diagnosed.
- Advise Clients with tuberculosis (TB) related findings of the nature of those findings and action required, including, where relevant, the possibility of further investigation through State and Territory TB services.
- Undertake other non-standard visa medical services (e.g., fitness to
- travel, fitness to depart, carer visas) as and when requested.
- Provide competent diagnosis and clinical management of patients
- At all times, you must comply with the policies and requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Customer Service
- Provide a high-quality and efficient service to clients
- Immediately inform the Practice Manager of any:
- Complaints;
- Incidents;
- Physical security issues;
- Electronic security issues; or
- Fraud
- that you perceived to have occurred in relation to a Medical Assessment of related service.
Compliance
- Ensure that medical examinations are graded and finalized such that;
- At least 95% of cases are submitted within eMedical within 5 business days of the attendance
- At least 60% of cases are submitted within eMedical within 2 business days of the attendance
- Comply with policies and procedures related to data security, privacy assurance and fraud management as required by the business
Workplace, Health & Safety
- Ensure safe working practices, obligations and compliances are adhered to, as per company WHS policy and procedures
- Report all incidents, accidents or injuries within 24 hours to management using the appropriate incident reporting procedure
- Identify and report all Hazards related to your work processes and working area using the appropriate Hazard reporting procedure

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications MBBS or Equivalent
Experience Previous experience conducting medical examinations and related services
