**Job Description**:
**Your New Role**

This Security Officer role is based in the Melbourne CBD area, and reports to the Security Lead. In this role, your primary focus will be to maintain the smooth operation of the day to day protective security functions.

Your specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

- Provide day to day performance of protective security functions with specific emphasis on Australian government requirements for physical security
- Ensure that physical security of Leidos facilities meet required standards
- Operate, update and maintain systems including security, EACS and BMS systems
- Maintain security records and reporting
- Develop and maintain company specific policy and procedures for security
- Train and support personnel to meet protective security requirements
- Provide after-hours support as required, including site attendance
- Supervise security and maintenance contractors
- Provide support for IT and personnel security roles

**Qualifications**:
**About You and What You'll Bring**

In addition to having an appropriate degree from an accredited university in related discipline, or experience/combined education, with professional experience, you will be need to be able to demonstrate experience or exposure in one or more of the following:

- Knowledge of Australian Government security policy and procedures
- Understanding of Defence, DSPF and DISP requirements
- Experience working in physical security
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective teamwork and collaboration
- Sound organizational skills
- Effective response to conflict
- Proficient computer operation
- Hold an active Australian Security Clearance of at least NV-1, with PV highly regarded
