Yarra Trams requires a Safety Advisor within the Health, Safety and Sustainability function. Reporting to the Safety Manager, this role involves:
Providing support, coordination and advice relating to Rail Safety and OHS practices, systems and procedures
Conducting Rail Safety and OHS audits and inspections
Identifying workplace hazards and leading the development and implementation of prevention programs
Implementing occupational health and safety and rail safety procedures based on approved company policies in the areas of health, safety and rail safety
Providing Health and Safety and rail safety specialist advice and technical input to deliver, ensuring legal and contractual obligations / risks are identified and communicated appropriately
Monitoring hazards and event trends to input into the overall Health & Safety prevention programs
Assisting in providing specialist advice on Safety Interface coordination, worksite protection and accreditation requirements
Performing all duties in accordance with Yarra Trams policies, processes, systems and procedures
About you
Ideally you will have:
Tertiary studies in an appropriate Technical, Safety or Risk related discipline
OHS Safety and / or Rail Safety management experience
Detailed knowledge of Rail Safety Management Systems, IMS/SMS procedures & Safe Working methods and their application
Experience and knowledge of leading a contemporary Rail Safety practice and models.
Knowledge of the application of management systems and procedures in the operational context for Rail.
Experience in risk management procedures and processes
Knowledge of system, procedure and high risk activity auditing compliance and reporting procedures and processes.
Knowledge of Rail Accreditation requirements across all permissions and jurisdictions
