Maintenance Team Leader

The Role

Our Lenah Valley site in Hobart manufactures a range of more than 50 milk, milk-based and cream products, with all products made from fresh milk sourced direct from Tasmanian dairy farms. The site currently produces around 33 million litres of product every year, operating 6 days a week and employing around 50 people.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join the Maintenance Team in Hobart (TAS). You will report to the Manager Reliability & Engineering; coaching and developing personnel to deliver reliability improvements to our manufacturing assets, improving efficiency and performance with a strong emphasis on making safety and quality improvements.

Responsibilities- Managing and Leading the Reliability and Maintenance team, being the first point of escalation for trades team with maintenance issues - supporting the troubleshooting & diagnosing of equipment, and ensuring compliance with Bega's safety policies and site processes.- Provide operational support being a front-line supervisor for mechanical maintenance team.- Maintenance procurement, store management, managing and ordering inventories and spare parts.- Manage Bega's Defect Management and CMMS systems- Being an active extended leadership team member to coach and direct the team through change and problem-solving; and engage towards a single vision with a safety-first culture

About you- Relevant qualifications in engineering discipline. Competent use of existing systems and protocols including CMMS and SAP.- Maintenance planning experience essential.- Solid understanding and experience of manufacturing equipment and processes- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and calmness under pressure- Leadership experience - Ability to lead a high performing and engaged mechanical trades team- Strong problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mindset to improve reliability of our equipment
