**About the role**:
We are currently seeking an Environmental Advisor** **to be based at our **Wambo Mine (Singleton NSW). **The Wambo Mine complex includes underground mining and coal processing and handling activities and is located 30 kilometres west of Singleton. The complex produces metallurgical and thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the **Environment and Community Manager, **this role will assist with the implementation of the environmental management system to ensure legislative compliance. Key to the role is establishing strong internal and external relationships to provide advice, education to the workforce and the broader community.

**Duties will include**:

- Assist in the development and implementation of Wambo Coal Environmental Management System, including site-specific management plans and procedures to meet company and legislative requirements;
- Manage the environmental monitoring program, including identifying trends in monitoring data, including the compilation of internal and external environmental reports;
- Assist the environmental team in improving environmental performance across the operation through site inspections and reporting, and delivery of environmental training to employees and contractors as required;
- Coordinate and execute the land management programs to maintain and improve the environmental and biodiversity related performance of company owned land; and
- Proactively identify actual or potential environmental risks and implement controls to facilitate positive outcomes.

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental management/science or, a related discipline;
- 3yrs+ environmental experience in Mining or other relevant industry experience;
- Knowledge of NSW environmental legislation;
- Demonstrated ability to form effective relationships with key stakeholders;
- GIS - knowledge/experience highly desirable;
- Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity;
- Motivated, team oriented and committed;
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision;
- Efficient planner, able to manage competing priorities;
- Good problem solver and decision-maker.

**The lifestyle Peabody**:
This position if offered on a Full-Time basis, 5 days a week, and can allow for a residential lifestyle.
