About YouFormal qualifications in workplace health and safety managementDemonstrated experience (2+ years) and successful track record in applying safety management principles and practicesDemonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of WHS related legislation and Australian StandardsFormal qualifications in incident/accident and hazard investigative techniquesDemonstrated experience in workers' compensation and return to work coordinationWell-developed analytical and report writing skillsSolid computer and record keeping skillsDemonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills
About The RoleTriage, investigate and report on WHS hazards and incidentsConduct WHS audits/inspections and report resultsIdentify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to mitigate risksContribute to the development and maintenance of emergency management plansCoordinate workers compensation claims and return to work strategiesAttend and act as secretariat to the relevant safety meetingsStay up to date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance

About UsThe mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia.

RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA and 10,000 primary healthcare appointments in remote communities.
RFDS crews are committed to providing the finest care to the furthest corners of the State, using high standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology.RFDS WO operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra.
Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State.
We work with government, business and the community to support Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.In 2024, RFDS WO launched a new five-year strategy 'Above and Beyond', focusing on expanding remote health clinics, expanding services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing technology and addressing environmental sustainability.
