australia perth permanent negotiableTalent International has partnered with a well known Australian Client, looking to fill a Permanent Full-time Safety and Risk Coordinator Position within Perth, Western Australia.
Reporting to the Chief Safety and Risk Officer (CSRO), the Safety and Risk Coordinator (SRC) is a business partner and compliance adviser responsible for actively engaging and supporting operations leaders to 'deliver safely'. The role provides stakeholders with technical and coordination services to ensure safe systems of work and demonstrates standards for workplace safety. The role has a strong focus on delivering frontline safety services to coordinate and monitor safety and risk compliance across contractor work scopes, including advice and support for works planning.
Safety and Risk Services:
- Provides stakeholders with timely and accurate safety advice, support and education.
- Learns and maintains expert knowledge of the clients safety and risk management system and documentation.
- Assists the CSRO to develop, maintain and improve the safety and risk management system and documents.
- Assists stakeholders to develop and implement work-level risk assessments, including safety plans and/or SWMS.
- Oversees and ensures the suitability of worker induction programs (employee and contractor).
- Monitors Permit to Work system to ensure compliance.
- Develops and improves the safety induction program and materials.
- Develops and coordinates the workplace safety inspection program.
- Facilitates safety and risk education workshops, as required.
- Provides advice, monitoring and corrective actions for the implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety and Risk Management System.
- Monitors work and works planning activities and intervene where needed to avoid harm, correct safety performance and ensure compliance.
- Notifies the responsible management personnel of absent / failed risk controls in the workplace and preventative / corrective actions required.
- Participates in incident investigation and implementation of preventative / corrective actions.
- Performs internal audits and inspections and provides recommendations for improvement.
- Performs daily review and processing of hazard and incident reports and coordinate close-out of action items.
- Participates WHS Committee and support for delegates / elected WHS representatives.
- Provides reports and analysis of contractors and licensees safety performance to the CSRO.

- Exposure to construction and high-risk works.
- Monitoring and providing feedback to contractors/tradespersons, providing guidance and advice to achieve safe outcomes, managing non-compliance.
- Understands strategic objectives, trends and factors that may influence work plans; Draws on information from a range of sources; Analyses and works within agreed guidelines to make decisions and incorporates outcomes into work plans.
- Identifies and uses resources wisely; Evaluates performance to identify need for change; Demonstrates flexibility with changes in priorities and focuses on quality whilst seeing tasks and projects through to completion.
- Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders, team members and colleagues; Consults and shares information; Values individual differences and diversity and takes responsibility for delivering high quality customer focused services.
- Communicates and influences effectively both orally and in writing, presenting messages confidently, listening to differing ideas and presenting persuasive counter arguments in negotiations.
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Safety Management.
- WA Construction Industry White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry).
Desirable:
- RIIWHS202D - Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- RIIWHS204E - Work Safely at Heights
- Events and/or sports and recreation industry experience
