**The Opportunity**:The Safety Manager is responsible for the design and management of safety systems to enable the business to meet its long and short term business objectives. They are building the site from scratch and are still in the very early stages of development. An experienced safety manager is required to build the whole site safety programme.

**Location**: Oversees EXPAT in ASIA
**Roster**: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off
**Team Size**: Local safety team to be built as project advances to construction
**Salary**: Highly attractive EXPAT package
**Reporting to**: Project Director

**Key Focus**:

- Promotion of site Health & Safety
- Hazard Identification and Incident Prevention
- Safety Training as Required
- Incident Response and Investigation
- Emergency Response - Planning & Training
- Manage local implementation plans.
- Lead the development of the Site Safety Management Plan
- Provide support to the management team in all OH&S matters
- Assist the project manager in developing the overall business strategy for health and safety
- Integrate nationals into the leadership team as the project advances
- Support frontline leaders in the areas of Risk management
- Incident reporting and investigation

**Core Competencies**:

- Strong safety leadership understanding and leads by example
- Deep understanding of safety systems
- Good computer skills
- Confident communicator with senior management, legal entities and external stakeholders
- Able to build relationships
- Engage people in continuous improvement processes
- Understanding of ER procedures
- Not fazed by a high risk environment
