**The Role**

Not only is this cattle operation well-resourced and financially proficient, but it also has all the machinery, earthmoving equipment and 'toys' to be efficient and effective, and the absolute plus to this opportunity is the owners will leave no stone un-turned to make your job and work-life-balance with your family a success

Spread across 3 holdings totally approx. 1,200 Ha are Angus cattle stud and commercial operations, and dryland lucerne production producing approx. 1,500 large bales each year.

With a recent additional purchase this husband and wife team are seeking the services of an astute and robust Assistant Manager contribute to the business.

They essentially seek a capable person to take on animal husbandry, record keeping, property and development planning.

The mid to longer-term view is for this person to take on more responsibilities and have the opportunity to have a share in the success of the operations to make you finically secure.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the owners in the preparation of budgets and business plans and the long term aims and goals of the properties.
- Undertaking on a day-to-day basis, the responsibility for all aspects of animal husbandry for the cattle herd and their welfare in general.
- Develop a livestock-breeding program to enhance the genetics of the cattle herd.
- Develop marketing strategies to maximise profit and enhance the reputation of the livestock.
- Oversee and implement the day-to-day work for permanent, casual and contract labour.
- Develop and implement a pasture improvement program.
- General property maintenance existing capital improvements and implementation of new capital works.
- Oversee the maintenance, upkeep and servicing of the properties plant and vehicles.

**Key Requirements**
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills (incl. Microsoft Excel).
- Proven animal husbandry experience with cattle (preferably Angus).
- Demonstrated experience in pasture improvement programs.
- Current ChemCert accreditation.
- Current Driver's License, including a heavy vehicle license (HC).
- Capable of mustering and moving stock on bike (4 wheel).
- Considered proficient in the operation of tractors and farm machinery.
- Capable of undertaking basic skills in arc, oxy and mig welding.
- Considered to be fit and able to undertake the requirements of the position - may be required to submit an external medical report.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be able to have a conversation and laugh with the owners.
