The APP Group is expanding our Defence sector capability to support the Estate Works Program (EWP) as part of the Project Delivery Service (PDS) Contract in Queensland and is currently seeking expressions of interest for upcoming roles forAssistant Project Manager,Project ManagerandSenior Project Managerroles in Queensland.
These opportunities are well-suited to professionals with proven project delivery experience who are ready to take on greater responsibility and contribute to complex programs and infrastructure projects—particularly within the defence or broader government sector.
Joining our Defence team means working on meaningful projects that support strategic outcomes.
You'll collaborate with a supportive and experienced team, engage with a broad range of stakeholders, and play a key role in delivering high-impact projects from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Manage projects through all stages of the lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
Ensure all procurement activities comply with Commonwealth Procurement Rules
Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders through regular engagement
Manage project documentation and reporting in accordance with Defence and APP Group standards
Deliver outcomes on time and within budget, with a focus on risk management and continuous improvement
Oversee handover/takeover (HOTO) processes and ensure timely closeout
Capture and share lessons learned to enhance future project delivery
About You
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Engineering, Construction Management); postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
Must currently hold (and be able to maintain) a minimum Baseline Security Clearance
Proven experience managing projects, ideally within defence of government sector
Experience in program and project management methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile
Understanding of government procurement practices and compliance standards
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
