We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team, a pivotal role responsible for managing the full spectrum of financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
Consolidate financial data for reporting to our Japanese parent company.
Oversee the general ledger, fixed assets register, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close.
Monitor and forecast daily cash flow.
Liaise with external advisors to support tax compliance.
Support payroll, tax compliance, and liaise with external advisors.
Implement, maintain, and test internal controls aligned with JSOX requirements.
Lead the annual external audit, working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
Facilitate effective bilingual communication (English & Japanese) with stakeholders in Australia and Japan.
Continuously analyse, document, and improve financial processes and systems.
What We're Looking For
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA/CA qualification (or working towards it).
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, and JSOX.
Fluent in both English and Japanese (spoken and written).
