About the Role
The Queensland Award Operating Authority manages the delivery of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and Bridge Award programs throughout the State.
As the Engagement Officer you will contribute to the development and implementation of a high quality youth leadership development program and help to support its growth in Queensland.

**As the Engagement Officer, you will have responsibility for**:

- Coordinating and conducting professional development (through a variety of channels) for Award Leaders and volunteers to assist them to deliver and grow the award programs in their school/organisation.
- Building Award Leader and Award Centre capability through the development of resources and materials to support growth and sustainability of the awards.
- Promoting and coordinating the exchange of ideas and program options between Award Leaders and volunteers to enhance delivery and sustainability of the award programs.
- Supporting Award Leaders and volunteers with the delivery of the award programs by providing advice on program flexibility to respond to the needs of students and community members including young people with disabilities, from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and/or experiencing disadvantage.
- Supporting Award Leaders and Award Centres to effectively administer the award programs within their school/organisation and ensure best practice through effective Quality Assurance processes.
- Engaging with schools and attending promotional events to highlight the benefits of the Award programs to schools and community organisation leaders, potential award leaders and volunteers, parents and students.

The Engagement Officer reports to the Principal Program Officer, Queensland Award Operating Authority.
About You

**The ideal applicant will also need to demonstrate their**:

- Understanding of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award program
- Understanding of working within schools and the community sector
- Excellent customer service skills and their ability to deal with a range of stakeholders in a professional and positive manner
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a highly productive team.
