Investment Data Analyst

My client is a global Investment/ Asset Management business who offers a quantamental investment approach across long-short and long only global equities strategies.
Key to their research and rigorous decision making processes are in-house built and be-spoke quantitative tools, ingesting large data sets across thousands of market indicators from a variety of sources to provide them with the insights needed to uncover true value in the global equities markets.
The business are looking for a motivated Data Analyst to support their Trading, Quant and Macro team providing day-to-day support for data workflows from both an operational and investment perspective, as well as conceptualizing and developing creative solutions, analysing outputs to provide actionable insights for the business. The role covers BAU investment team support, and also project-based work to meet the evolving investment team needs.
This a role where you'll get a huge amount of exposure and over time gain hands-on investment and trading experience.
**Essentials**:
- Strong proficiency in SQL + R or Python, with experience building scalable code and designing/ building relational database schemas (Snowflake also a plus)
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with a visualisation tool (ideally Power BI)
- Analytical mindset with ability to derive insights from large, complex datasets and presenting findings to stakeholders
- Naturally inquisitive, strong attitude and willingness to learn, exceptional attention to detail and a natural problem solver with an outcomes focus
**Desirables**:
- Ability to understand equity markets and macro economic data, including reference data, financial statements and estimates, prices
- Understanding of data ingestion, ETL, and building automation tools
- Confidence working in a Linux development environment
