**Aboriginal Liaison Service Coordinator**

An exciting opportunity to join as our Aboriginal Liaison Officer (ALO) Coordinator on a full time basis

**About the Role**
- Provide leadership, peer support and strategic direction to the ALO team
- Provide cultural support to Aboriginal patients, their families, carers and staff in the delivery of culturally appropriate health care
- Work collaboratively with social work and other multidisciplinary team members to provide discharge planning services to Aboriginal patients
- Report to the Social Work Manager on operational issues for the ALO service at JHC.

- Aboriginality (under Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act 1984) is essential for this position
- Demonstrated ability to lead a successful team
- Aboriginal Health Worker qualifications or equivalent work experience or prior learning
- Demonstrated ability in communicating/consulting with Aboriginal people and communities
- A high level of understanding and ability to provide cultural leadership and direction in service planning, development and delivery
- Highly developed interpersonal, written/verbal communication and negotiation skills including client and community engagement, advocacy and networking.
- Demonstrated ability to keep timely, appropriated and accurate records and relevant data collection
