- responsibilities_ in addition to managing and processing corporate events will include working as part of a global team and communicate regularly with other groups within InvesTech, and across the firm globally, including Trading, Portfolio Management, Legal, Performance, Derivative Operations, Private Equity, and Global Relationship Management. They will also serve as a resource to other members of the Portfolio Operations team in Asia Pacific for market event knowledge, escalations, and guidance.
Due to the many consumers of portfolio accounting data throughout the firm, this position requires excellent communication and delivery skills. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Work closely with Wellington's corporate action service providers, custodians, and internal clients to develop and improve sounds workflows- Execute daily processing/validation procedures with a focus on Asia Pacific mandatory events. Ensuring the integrity and consistency of global corporate action data across multiple platforms, and in alignment with market practice- Act as the Asia Pacific regional escalation point for all corporate action related events and for all support issues that require detailed analysis and management- Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements with a focus on Asia Pacific that increase efficiencies and/or reduce risk for the team and/or firm- Represent Corporate Actions at interdepartmental and external meetings- Interact directly with business and technology partners at all levels of the organization to define, analyze and document requirements, as well as set priorities. Act as a champion for the needs of the business partners and a trusted advisor- Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on time, scalable and high-quality business solutions- Provide input into system design to help the programming teams define effort and implementation schedules- Ensure quality of product by enforcing high standards in testing and building audit/validation controls Provide regular status reporting and issue tracking
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum 5 years of experience in the life cycle of global corporate action events across all asset classes and products. Specific market and/or tax withholdings knowledge in the Asia Pacific region a plus- Minimum 5 years of experience as a systems analyst and data analysis. Experience with writing, optimizing and executing complex SQL queries with relational database technology- Willingness to work across both technology and business functions in a fast-paced, and team-oriented environment while managing conflicting priorities- Experience reviewing Market/Company offering documents to interpret and communicate event details correctly and concisely to the firm- Experience in Financial Services systems, which may include domains such as:
- Understanding of financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, derivatives, and FX.- Experience with advanced investment data concepts such as holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance.- Detailed knowledge and experience of investors workflows in areas of research/valuation, analysis and portfolio construction- Understanding of various types of corporate actions and the related workflows- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to write technical documentation- Strong analytical and problem-solving skil
