The Department's Energy Infrastructure Division within the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability (ECCS) group is seeking to appoint three **Policy and Project Officers**to provide strategic policy advice to deliver critical projects and support the development and delivery of energy infrastructure initiatives.

**About the teams**

The Energy Infrastructure Division leads initiatives to maintain a safe, secure and reliable electricity and gas supply while advancing the shift to a clean, affordable energy future for New South Wales. The Energy Infrastructure Division is responsible for policy stewardship, regulation, and investment across energy infrastructure and markets, including generation, storage, networks, and fuel pipelines, and leads emergency coordination for the energy sector and provides expert technical advice and oversight.

We are recruiting three Policy and Project officers across the following teams:

- Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Networks and Access team leading policy reforms to deliver new REZ, network projects and access schemes to connect large scale wind and solar.
- Development and Performance team providing policy stewardship of electricity network and gas pipeline safety and technical regulatory framework; and
- Generation and Storage Investment team providing policy stewardship and reform to implement the roadmaps infrastructure objectives for generation, firming and long duration storage.

**About you**
- Ideally, you will have experience in policy formation, research or analysis and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Ability to achieve assigned policy objectives within a high volume and evolving work environment.
- Provide policy analysis and advice to support the development and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives.
- Engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including coordinating working groups and committees to contribute to policy development and implementation.

**Key accountabilities**
- Undertake regulatory and commercial analysis to inform policy development and implementation, providing timely and evidence-based advice to support strategic decision-making on energy infrastructure initiatives.
- Prepare a range of policy or project related documents including briefs, reports, status updates and discussion papers.
- Support policy and project initiatives by managing delegated projects aligned with energy, priorities, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with quality and scope expectations using established project management methodologies.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and technical experts, to inform and refine policy approaches, and ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the policy and project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including project plans, policy briefs, discussion papers, reports, and updates to support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes, ensuring transparency and accountability across all stages of policy and project development.
- Coordinate consultations, working groups, and governance committees to facilitate stakeholder engagement, policy alignment, and the exchange of critical information, ensuring initiatives are informed by a broad range of perspectives.

Monitor and report on policy and project performance by sourcing, analysing, and synthesising data to track progress against milestones and deliverables, identify emerging issues, and support continuous improvement.

**Essential Requirements -**
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
