We are currently seeking an
**experienced Maintenance Fitter** for an exciting permanent opportunity with our client, a leading ice manufacturer and distributor, based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

Reporting directly to the State Operation Manager, this could be the next step up in your career

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Be directly responsible for the day-to-day mechanical serviceability of the production line to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum
- Undertake maintenance works for all areas of the plant as required
- Organise preventative maintenance programs with the state operation manager
- Perform maintenance shuts downs in a timely manner including recording all maintenance stoppages.
- Participate in projects and modifications to improve machinery efficiency and reliability.
- Practising due diligence and sound judgement in determining when contractors are required
- Including supervising to ensure compliance with safety requirements and minimum disruption
- Ordering spare parts and stock control

**Key requirements**:

- ** Trade qualified with a minimum of 2 years' experience** as a Maintenance Fitter within a food or beverage FMCG manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in packaging, conveying/palletising systems, robotics or pneumatics.
- Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
- Safety conscious and good housekeeping skills
- Be a vital team player but also be confident to work autonomously
- Moderate computer skills
- Hours of work are Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm with overtime available.
