Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for an
**Instrument & Electrical Designer **to join our team in Perth. This is a long-term opportunity to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to the recently securing several large projects with existing long term clients, in addition to a new and significant Brownfields engineering opportunity being negotiated with a major player in the LNG industry.
Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers Brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Kazakhstan.
Reporting directly to the EI&C Lead, you will be working collaboratively across disciplines on FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery on a range of Brownfields Oil & Gas projects with the support of an established team, both locally and internationally.
In addition, you will:
- Readily take ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on a project
- Ensure deliverables are consistently checked, accurate and presentable
- Provide day to day services to the project

Skills / Qualifications:
**You must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.**
Ideally you will have relevant experience in a similar Instrument & Electrical Designer role in the Oil & Gas industry within an engineering and maintenance project environment, with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements.
In addition, you will have
- Relevant Certificate or suitably qualified by industry experience
- An ability to interpret and translate engineering concepts into practical designs
- An ability to both lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Open to spend time away from office location as and when operation requires
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Professional demeanour and interpersonal skills
- A solutions mindset and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
**Experience with **SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation), SPEL (SmartPlant Electrical) and S3D (SmartPlant 3D) would be advantageous but not essential.**
