**About the Role...**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Planning Services team as Development Officer - Planning to meet the current and future needs of Council. This role is responsible for the facilitation of positive development outcomes, provision of proficient planning advice and assessment along with contributing to a positive team environment with a supportive approach to enhance team culture.

**About You...**

You will have working knowledge of the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act 2016 and be tertiary qualified in Planning and hold (or be eligible for) full membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). You should be motivated to develop your skills in Development Assessment and have a high level of time management skills to achieve competing deadlines.

In addition, you will have:

- Working knowledge of building design and practices with an ability to review/analyse plans, drawings, technical details and specifications.
- Ability to exercise a high level of interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and other organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in the assessment of Development Applications through the Development Assessment Portal.
- Hold a valid Class C Driving Licence.

Incumbents in this position may be required to possess or be willing to gain a National Criminal History Clearance.
