We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll & Systems Specialist working full time in a permanent basis. The Payroll & Systems Specialist will contribute to the purpose and ongoing success of Defence Bank by managing the payroll function whilst also supporting a range of human resource services to ensure our people are supported and have a great employee experience.

**Description**:
**This position is accountable for**:
Managing the payroll function (including the end to end processing of our fortnightly pay), maintaining payroll data and processes, and providing specialist payroll advice to people leaders and employees.
Managing the month end payroll function including superannuation and payroll tax.
Identifying opportunities for improving our payroll process for both efficiency and employee experience.
Supporting the employee lifecycle (e.g. starters, movers, leavers), ensuring data is accurate, processes followed, milestones met, and standards maintained.
Coordinating the salary review and benchmarking process in collaboration with team members and external partners.
**To achieve this, you will work with**:
People & Capability Team.
Business Technology Team.
Finance Team.
Default superannuation fund (Rest).
People system providers (mainly ELMO).
Remuneration benchmarking partners.
State and territory revenue offices.
Workers' compensation insurers.
**Skills and Experiences**:
**You have**:
At least 3 years' relevant experience within a corporate environment.
A working knowledge of Australian legislation relevant to payroll and workers compensation including the specific requirements for each state/territory as we are Australia wide.
**Demonstrated experience or skills in**:
Overseeing the end to end payroll process, including end of month/end of year.
Award/enterprise agreement interpretation.
Building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Conveying complex concepts clearly.
Data entry and great attention to detail.
Planning and organising.
Problem solving.
Providing human resource and payroll advice.
Using Microsoft Office and human resource/payroll software at an intermediate to advanced level.
