Tennis Australia (TA) is one of the largest sport's governing body, entertainment and sports rights-holder, and media production houses in Asia-Pacific. We are now looking for an experienced and creative publicist to join our team in the role of Publicity & Communications Lead - Women & Girls. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with strong potential for a 12-month extension.

About the role

The goal of the Tennis Women and Girls Strategy is to improve access and opportunities for women and girls in tennis to achieve gender equality in the sport. The Women and Girls Lead will develop and implement a PR and communications strategy to support and promote all initiatives and programs for women and girls in tennis, ultimately creating more opportunities for women and girls to lead, play, promote and represent the sport.

Reporting to both Head of Public Relations and Head of Women and Girls, in this role you will;
- Develop a range of documents, resources and content to inform and influence internal and external stakeholders and celebrate milestones and success
- Write the six-monthly report for Sport Australia and government and engage design resources as required
- Develop and deliver the PR and communication strategy for the Women and Girls project
- Develop an operational plan to implement the strategy over the next three years
- Liaise with TA and MA Participation and Marketing teams to plan and deliver publicity campaigns promoting women and girls across the sport

About you

You will be an experienced publicist with a nose for news and natural flair for developing ideas that maximise exposure and engagement. You'll thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy building strong working relationships and work collaboratively to deliver outstanding results.

What you will bring to the role:

- Tertiary qualifications in public relations / media / journalism or equivalent experience
- Proven experience within the public relations sector at specialist level
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to write for a variety of stakeholders, from corporate, government and media
- Strong administrative skills, attention to detail and computer literacy using Microsoft Office
- Ability to set priorities and schedules to meet strict deadlines
- Preparedness to be flexible regarding workload, changing priorities and extended working hours associated with events and functions (including weekends and public holidays)
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
