The Yilgarn region has a long history of iron ore mining and is located in the Shires or Yilgarn and Menzies with ore being railed to Esperance Port for export.
The productive mining areas are located on the land of the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Group.Located in the Shire of Yilgarn, Western Australia, 54 km north-northeast of the town of Southern Cross, on a14/7 FIFO roster, you will thrive on meeting all goals and challenges, and act with fairness and integrity in all that you do.In this role, you will:Leadership of skilled mobile maintenance team following managers and supervisors directivesPerform the servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentationSource technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer based systemsProvide technical information to staff and operations personnelSource and requisition parts and / or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedureVerify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been correctedAbout youCert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalentAt least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervision of mobile maintenance HD FittersPossess a positive leadership style, with exceptional time-management skills and the ability to pivot around priorities while providing guidance, assistance, and supervision to the maintenance team.Manage performance, planning servicing, repair and preventative maintenance heavy mobile mining equipment.Ensure work health and safety policies and procedures are adhered toEnsure all required paperwork is completed to a high standard by tradespeopleMust be proactive in the workplace to ensure quality work is being completedHigh Risk Work Licences Advantageous - WP, LF and RiggingWhat Thiess can do for youPermanent full-time positionsFull camp facilities providedThiess' commitment to training & developmentSalary sacrifice options - Flights & novated leasingRange of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.About usAt Thiess, we partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
