Vacation Student – Exploration Geology: Gain hands-on field experience, real project ownership, and mentorship at Evolution Mining's Northparkes site.Your RoleKey responsibilities include:Assisting with field mapping and surface sampling.Logging and sampling drill core and RC chips.Conducting geochemical and geophysical surveys.Supporting drill rig supervision and QA/QC procedures.Updating exploration databases and GIS layers.Participating in target generation and field campaigns.Preparing daily logs and contributing to technical reports.Rotating through field-based assignments under the supervision of an exploration geologist within the Technical Services team.About YouThe ideal candidate will possess:Current enrollment in a Science degree majoring in Geology, Geoscience, Geophysics (honours strongly preferred) or a similar degree.Experience with relevant software and systems through studies or placements.Strong problem-solving skills.Effective communication skills across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.Ability to uphold high work standards and build strong relationships with peers and leaders.Capacity to work independently to meet personal and team goals.Valid manual driver's licence.Willingness to live and work remotely.Compensation & Benefits12-week residential program from December to February.Roster: 5 days on/2 days off and 4 days on/3 days off, 8.5-hour workdays.Subsidized housing in a mixed house with a private room.Flights provided at the beginning and end of the program, and for the Christmas break.Fuel reimbursement if traveling by personal car.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.Fast-tracked entry into the graduate program upon successful completion.Inclusive and diverse workplace culture.Training & DevelopmentHands-on experience through on-the-job learning.Ownership of real projects with meaningful impact.Mentorship from experienced technical leaders.Participation in operational and personal development training.Career ProgressionCandidates who successfully complete the vacation program will be fast-tracked into the Evolution Mining graduate program.Exposure to multiple mining methods and technical teams, supporting long-term career growth within the company.How to ApplySubmit your application as instructed in the job posting, ensuring all required documents and information are provided.This job may close before the stated closing date, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possibleReport this job
