Are you passionate about improving cancer patient outcomes, reviewing evidence, analysing cancer datasets, supporting cancer services improvement, stakeholder engagement, and reducing variance in outcomes. An exciting new opportunity exists for a motivated **VICS Optimal Care Summits** **Research Officer**.

**About **V**ICS**:
The Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS) are Victoria's cancer services improvement network. The VICS are funded by the Victorian Department of Health. The North Eastern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (NEMICS) is one of nine ICS and administers the VICS Optimal Care Summits program. Together we deliver strategic consultation and cancer services improvement aligned with the Victorian Cancer Plan, VICS Implementation Plan, and Optimal Care Pathways.

Our team delivers excellence, innovation, collaboration, and initiatives with impact. Our program contributes to the reduction of unwarranted variations in cancer care for tumour and non-tumour specific groups presented at summits.

**About the role**:
A Research Officer is required to deliver research skills and expertise to the VICS Optimal Care Summits program, an initiative of the VICS. This role will deliver project coordination, literature review, cancer dataset analysis, audit and survey data collection and analysis, ethics requirements, program evaluation, and reporting. **About you**:
Ideally, you'll have:

- Honours or Masters degree (or equivalent work experience) in public health, health sciences, epidemiology, translational research, or other related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of a range of research methodologies relevant to a health setting, gained from a combination of prior professional experience and training.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and achieve performance targets.
- An interest in cancer services innovation and improvement.
- A passion for improving the experience and outcomes of Victorian cancer patients.
