**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Research and Support Officer to join Government Relations and Protocol, Chancellery Division.

The Higher Education Sector is undergoing a period of significant policy reform. The Research and Support Officer supports the formation of policy development and advice by undertaking research, data analysis and synthesis of results. The role also provides administrative assistance in support of the functions of the Government Relations and Protocol Team.

Chancellery Division is responsible for strategy, including Indigenous Australian strategy, government relations, policy, international and external relations including marketing and communications, business development, and legal, assurance and audit functions. **What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in a relevant discipline combined with relevant experience in a research or administrative capacity.
- Experience performing quantitative and qualitative research and analysing quantitative data from a range of sources.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to coordinate and draft policy briefs, and/or other relevant documentation.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, and an ability to manage time and tasks efficiently to meet tight deadlines within the context of competing demands.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of team, and with agility in addressing unexpected challenges at short notice.
- Knowledge of the Higher Education Sector and/or applicable policy or legislature of state and federal governments, or a demonstrated ability to acquire this knowledge.
