**The Opportunity**:
**CSIRO Verification Services (VS)** provides an independent certification process for the materials and infrastructure industries, operating accreditation and certification schemes for paints and coating products, painting and coatings contractors and fire protection systems.
As the **Verification Services Executive Officer**, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of verification processes and procedures.
You will combine your knowledge of verification methodologies with a close working relationship with VS team members to enable the timely delivery of services and ensure the team is meeting operational performance targets.
**Your duties will include**:
- General oversight, development and approval of documents and specifications pertinent to Infrastructure Technologies certification schemes.
- Management of the VS relationship with the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ), including:
- the maintenance of current endorsed schemes,
- the ongoing management of the Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) accreditation, and
- working with VS scheme executive officers for the expansion of other schemes to achieve endorsement.
- Designing, developing, and implementing verification processes and procedures to authenticate and validate the information provided by clients or employees.
- This involves creating guidelines, checklists, and templates to streamline the verification workflow.
- Ensuring that verification processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This involves:
- staying updated on changes in verification requirements,
- implementing necessary adjustments,
- identifying and mitigating risks associated with verification processes.
- Collaborating with external clients or internal stakeholders to understand their verification needs and providing effective solutions.
- Participating in meetings or presentations to discuss verification processes, address concerns, and build strong working relationships.
- Acting as Quality Manager for Infrastructure Technologies:
- convening regular meetings,
- issuing timely minutes and,
- in conjunction with the Infrastructure Technologies director and group leaders:
- identifying areas for improvement,
- implementing and coordinating corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintaining the Infratech Business Process Manual CQ-M001.
- Communicating scheme adaptions, additions, and service results.

**Salary**: AU$105,806 - AU$110,155 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
**Essential**:
- A relevant Bachelors/Master's degree and/or equivalent experience in materials science, engineering or quality management.
- laboratories (ISO 17025),
- product certification (ISO 17065),
- environment (ISO 14001), and
- quality (ISO 9001).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to anticipate the interests and knowledge level of an audience and present information and feedback accordingly.
- Attention to detail.
- Certification processes involve reviewing documents, verifying information, and conducting audits. Having a keen eye for detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and maintain the integrity of the program._
- A history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes in a collaborative environment.
- The ability to effectively manage several competing priorities simultaneously and carry out non-routine tasks under limited direction.
- Proven ability to investigate underlying issues of complex and ill-defined problems and develop appropriate responses by adapting/creating and testing alternative solutions.
- Ability to perform in an independent and self-directed work environment to achieve strategic and financial goals.
**Desirable**:
- Recognised competency in lead auditing, e.g.: Diploma of Quality Auditing.
- Customer service orientation.
- The role often works closely with clients and applicants. Having a customer service mindset and being responsive to their needs and concerns will help you build positive relationships and ensure a smooth certification experience._
