**The role**
As a Principal Investigator, you'll lead and participate in investigations into council misconduct, maladministration, and compliance issues to ensure good governance and public confidence in local councils. Your role involves examining council conduct, conducting thorough investigations, and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making and legal reviews.
You'll face challenges like managing complex and sensitive cases, balancing priorities in a high-volume environment, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation. Your ability to handle investigations professionally, provide clear advice, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements will be key to your success.

**About You**:
- Extensive experience in the conduct of formal investigations, evidence gathering and compliance review processes.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Local Government sector, its operating environment and governing legislation.
**Essential requirements**:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience and/or training.
