**Overview**

This role is responsible for creating desirable, usable and compelling experiences, designing original concepts, establishing design principles and systems to consistently deliver high value insights and designs and conducting research and customer testing to develop insights for roadmap development and prioritisation.

**Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities**

Strategic Focus
- Work collaboratively with Solutions and Product Management and clients to understand their business goals and objectives and articulate product vision through the building of an engaging narrative
- Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, accessibility, findability)
- Keep updated on products and trends
- Translate concepts into service blueprints, customer and user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs
- Define and implement design systems and associated documentation to enable standardisation

Operational Management
- Customer testing and research throughout the design funnel (including ethnographic research, resonance testing and usability testing).
- Contribute to building a refined suite of reusable components, patterns and templates guided by established design principles and UX research and compliance with compatibility standards
- Plan and design digital products and systems, not just websites
- Optimize existing user interface designs
- Communicate design ideas and prototypes to technical and delivery stakeholders
- Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centered solutions
- Develop wireframes and prototypes

People Leadership
- No direct people management
- The role will require the ability to assemble and facilitate/lead virtual teams through design lifecycle

Governance & Risk
- Identify and consider risk and security impacts of designs
- Ensure appropriate governance processes are established and/or followed for design management

**Experience & Personal Attributes**
- Min 4 years of professional design experience, including UX/UI
- Experience in financial services
- An appreciation of the entire product development process, from problem-solving and system modelling, through to detailed UI, visual, and interaction design.
- Ability to create and deliver high-quality, detail-oriented, user interface designs, information architecture diagrams, interaction models, and UI prototypes.
- Very strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a natural ability to articulate and defend design decisions, and run work sessions
- Successful experience working collaboratively with Product, Engineering, Product Management, and UX Research to successfully go from early-stage product discovery to deployment.
- In depth design systems experience
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines and tackle new challenges with an open mindset
