The Role
We're looking for a dedicated analyst to take the lead in monitoring investment activities, restrictions and guidelines relating to the Fund's mandates with investment managers as well as any required remedial action. The role will also monitor the team's compliance with investment policies.
This is a key role in the Investment Operations team, working closely with the Manager, Investment APRA Reporting, assisting the team to manage investment regulatory reporting obligations, corporate compliance and the shareholder class actions program.
**What you'll do**:
- Mandate monitoring of investment limits, restrictions and guidelines (including ESG guidelines and restrictions) sourced from IMA's, derivative risk statements and other investment-related policies and agreements.
- Reporting breaches and assisting with investigation, rectification, remedial action and resolution with investment managers and other stakeholders.
- Manage compliance with ASIC Derivative Trade Reporting to ensure services outsourced are delivered to meet compliance obligations.
- Assist with the Fund's compliance with regulatory obligations, including preparation and lodgement of the portfolio holding disclosure reporting.
- Support the Manager Investment APRA Reporting in preparation and lodgement of the fund's investment APRA reports including RG 97 fees and costs disclosures, SRF551: Liquidity reporting and SRF553 Valuations reporting.
- Manage and monitor the services and performance of the outsourced vendor appointed to manage the class actions program.
- Corporate Compliance and Reporting including regulatory responses required to queries from APRA, ASIC or the ATO
- Maintain critical operations mapping and all associated monitoring of triggers, tolerance and outages for compliance with CPS230: Outsourcing.
- Provide regular reporting to the Risk Audit & Compliance Committee and Board on critical operations.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and ongoing process improvements.
About you
**You will bring the following key skills**:
- Considerable experience in mandate compliance, investment operations and/or investment risk management at an investment manager, superannuation fund, custodian or investment bank.
- Understanding of the life-cycle of an investment trade for equities, fixed income, futures, forwards and options.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex matters to various levels of management in a collaborative and constructive manner.
- Strong research and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail
- Interest in investment or funds management, as well as ESG and responsible investing
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, law or related.
**The following skills are nice to have but not essential**:
- Experience in investment regulatory reporting for a financial institution; breach reporting and investigation, rectification, and resolution; monitoring external service providers; managing Shareholder Class Action participation from a shareholder's perspective.
- Exposure or familiarity with a range of asset classes
- Experience in ASIC Derivatives Trade Reporting and APRA Regulatory Reporting for SRF705, SRF551 and/or SRF553.
