APG Workforce are currently seeking a **Production Planner** based in the Laverton area. Our client is a manufacturer of all thing poultry, providing quality premium poultry products to Australian retailers

The role will primarily be responsible for planning of production scheduling manufacturing and ordering of consumables, ingredients and packaging.

Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm with some overtime & weekends occasionally.
- Ensure, through proper planning that all orders are produced in full and necessary persons are informed of any shortages or add-ons.
- The position reports regularly on processing performance to the Operations Manager and plans and implements any corrective action resulting from the review
- To ensure that our food standards are in line with applicable legislation and assist to drive the business forward to achieve the overall business strategy and goals.
- Responsible for development and verification or assistance of the Quality and Food Safety System in order to comply with legislative (including Trade Measurement Laws and Export Acts), and quality customer requirements for certification.
- Scheduling in line with Machinery availability
- Scheduling in line with allergen compatibility and ingredients and packaging availability
- Check with production daily stock requirements
- Run daily production meeting
- Monitor and action stock receivables including UBD etc
- Print daily orders
- Adjust weekly planning
- Communicating with team and Site/Production Manager on regular basis
- Ordering and purchasing of materials and stock e.g. consumables, ingredients and packaging
- Inventory control of materials and stock
- Coordination of Export documentation and requirements

**Critical Skills and Experience Required**:

- This position requires forecasting skills, analytical skills and the person holding the position needs to be decisive to achieve meeting customer requirements.
- Knowledge of food processing industry, especially food safety /HACCP principles
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to make quick and correct decisions "on the job"
- Ability to achieve production targets
- Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to arrive at and implement long term preventative action
- A knowledge of quality systems, HACCP procedures and understanding of how day to day activities could impact on the environment
- Ability to demonstrate initiative
- Positive proactive attitude & Team orientated
- Good time keeping and a history of reliability
