NextGen Jobs is hiring a Business Administration Trainee to support the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing. Do you have an interest in working for the government while earning a **Certificate III in Business Administration**?

This **12 month traineeship** based in Melbourne CBD provides support to the Disability, Communities and Emergency Management division to ensure the department can operate in an effective and efficient manner.

**Role description**

**Key accountabilities**

1. Operate as an effective team member in a small team environment to deliver quality, timely and effective customer service to Seniors Card holders, key stake holders, members of the public, managers and staff within the work unit.

2. Provide high quality telephone inquiry services and office administration.

3. Maintain a number of databases on a regular ongoing basis including the Seniors Card database and participating business database. Report any database issues and log faults/errors.

5. Ensure effective maintenance of filing and management systems.

7. Undertake other duties as required such as processing invoices and purchase orders within the Office for Senior Victorians.

9. Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies.

10. Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.

**Key selection criteria**
- Experience with MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint would be desirable.
- Customer service: actively seeks to meet customer needs; committed to delivering high quality outcomes for clients.
- Problem-solving: seeks information needed to solve work problems; identifies and proposes practical solutions to problems.
