Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for an
**Principal Planner** to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC West business. This is a permanent full-time role to support the deliverables within Wood Operation's growing Project Controls team.

Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Kazakhstan.

Reporting to the Regional Project Controls Manager, a key focus of your role will be to prepare and assess project plans for all stages and facets to help project delivery outcomes.

Your responsibilities will also include:

- Project planning and scheduling in accordance with project reporting requirements in the oil and gas industry
- Producing and issuing updates to project plans and schedules (logic linked with a critical path) to enable performance analysis to be carried out
- Producing and issuing updates to project resource requirements
- Assessing impact of client interface milestones on Wood plans and share relevant Wood milestone data with client through appropriate controls
- Monitoring overall project progress and achievement of major milestones
- Liaising with other Planners within the team and share responsibilities as appropriate to deliver an effective planning service to Wood Project Management and the client

Skills / Qualifications:
**You must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) OR able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.**

Ideally you have 12+ years' proven experience as a Planner working within the Oil & Gas industry. What will set you apart will be your exceptional stakeholder management skills (internal & external) and relevant experience in an EPC / EPCM / Operator environment within the Western Australian Oil & Gas sector.

In addition, you will have:

- Relevant degree / diploma or suitable a trade background
- Proven knowledge, skills and experience in technical planning & scheduling
- Ability to interpret project controls documentation and prepare planning documents in accordance with Wood and Oil & Gas industry standard practice
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), be engaging, demonstrate resilience and open to using innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes
- Exceptional client facing skills with proven experience influencing and challenging leadership and their teams toward high performance
- High level proficiency and working knowledge of Primavera (P6)
