Monash Medical Centre has 9 Operating Theatres and cater for a wide variety of surgical specialities including neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, vascular, UGI, ophthalmology, plastics, obstetrics & gynaecology colorectal, maxillofacial and general procedures. With co-located medical and post-surgical wards, we support our patients through their stay at Monash Health and Jessie McPherson Private Hospital

**A day in the life**

No two days will be the same as you work within an established, friendly and supportive team environment, working closely together to care for patients along with providing opportunities for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced **Associate Nurse Manager (ANM)** demonstrated theatre experience; ideally with knowledge and expertise across both Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetic/Recovery.

The responsibility or the ANM is to support the Nurse Managers and ensure safe and effective management of the day surgery on a shift by shift basis. You will support the Nursing staff and broader team in providing patient centred care, from admission of the patient, through the peri-operative phase to discharge. You will have access to resources to support you in this position, enabling you to further advance your surgical nursing and leadership skills whilst role modelling nursing excellence and delivering a high standard of patient centred care.

**What you bring**

As an Associate Nurse Manager, you will have a passion for safe and effective leadership, proficient communication skills and established clinical expertise in either Scrub/Scout or Anaesthetics/Recovery nursing. Management experience is ideal but as a minimum must have demonstrated prior interest in leadership with excellent clinical skills and a minimum of two years' experience as a Perioperative Nurse.

**The JMPH Clinical Lead will also**:

- Provide clinical leadership and support for staff in the nominated Jessie McPherson theatres
- Establish a strong working relationship with JMPH Perioperative Service Coordinator, JMPH Administrative (bookings/ admissions, ward clerks) JMPH Preadmission and Admission staff
- Liaise with JMPH Surgeons ensuring an open and available point of contact within theatre
- Advocate for JMPH patients and surgeons
- Work closely with the MMC Theatre Floor Coordinator and NUM to ensure JMPH lists run smoothly
- Actively problem solve issues as they arise Capabilities:

- Promote a unit culture of optimism, innovation, encouragement, learning and creativity
- Identify potential and actual barriers to patient flow and manage appropriately
- Ensure maintenance of equipment required for patient care is current and take appropriate action in relation to repairs, replacement, and deficiencies
